La, La, La-Lah, La, La...La, La-Lah La Lahhh

Smurfs were second only to Rainbow Brite in my youthful mind. Loved those little blue creatures the height of three apples. Imagine my glee when I see they are soon to hit the big screen.

Here are some early shots of Hank Azaria as the evil Gargamel filming in NYC. Even the pictures make me laugh.
Love the red tights.

  1. Smurfs was one of the cartoon shows our children got to watch and enjoyed. I always thought including Classical music in the soundtrack was a good idea, but I was probably one of the fools who bought into the producers' ploy of gaining the approval of parents by pandering to their belief that exposure to serious music was a good thing and made up for some of the negative aspects of the entertainment...not that I found many negative things about Smurfs except for the phrase, "Are we there yet, Papa Smurf," which I heard on many a trip.

  2. I don't even recall the classical music - they sure got me!
