No Tricks

Meet Jack Jr:
(a LuRuSo/Ricardo original)

Rich people like to be spooky, too:
(and tacky)

Someone's costume didn't come in time, so we had to go with a past option:
(long and low, but a hero nonetheless)

All treats, I'd say.

Wakey, Wakey

I set 4-5 alarms every morning.

And usually have wake-up calls in place on very important days.

Let's just say that I may be what you call a heavy sleeper. Or at least a solid sleeper who is able to turn off alarms, even at a distance, without interrupting her REMs.

It's an issue.

I wonder if this gadget could actually fool me into waking up and staying up?

If anything, my dog would love it.

Wake Up Call

The Eastern skies have been inspiring this past week. This one may have been my favorite:
A great way to start the day.

Shoe Shine

Starting a new venture tomorrow. Think Upper East Side, lists, and headbands. It's almost like the first day of school. If that school was private and overpriced.

I would love a pair of simple, rounded-toe, black patent leather wedges to add to my "class" look.

Which is your favorite?
Still haven't found a deal that I can scoop up. If so, it would be perfectly patent in every way.

Chew On This

Did you know such a thing existed?

I wonder what is in that van...?

Oh Horrors

There once was a purple Monkey Man. Complete. Whole. Happy.

Some even say loved.

Time passed.

Life was good. Simple, quiet, but good.

Until one fateful Thursday night...

An ear...a hand...an arm...yet he still smiled. Oh, the courage.

Who could have committed such a heinous act?

I hate to suspect this sweet soul, but all signs (and stuffing) point to a certain dachshund.

And any doubts were erased when I saw the crazy in his eyes.

No guilt. No remorse. He just wanted more.

Always more.

At least I found the arm.

I feel I will be finding purple carnage for weeks.

Who's next on this brutal and violent spree? Duckie? Squeaky Squirrel? Beloved Rope Mouse?

Beware dog.

Easy As...

I've displayed my love for letters HERE and HERE.

But just as I enjoyed math as much as english (nerrrrrrrrrrrrrrd!), I love me some numbers, too.

Especially when they sparkle.

That's sooooo 1996

Remember Black Honey? Good old Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick? It was basically the only lip color I wore throughout the nineties. And now it's upgraded.

I kind of want it.

I wonder if this means I should plan on wearing more plaid flannel shirts and mary jane Doc Martens?

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go back to watching Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet and eating Snackwells.

Falling For You

It's fall, y'all (sorry, I was just in Virginia). For the past month, there have been hints: flu shot reminders, drugstores loaded with Halloween candy and plastic masks, espadrilles sales, butternut squash soup on menus, and yes, even a sweater vest or two. But now it's official.
Fall is here.

So let's talk about summer.

What comes to mind when thinking back to those dog days...

Corn. Lots of corn.

It is to be expected since my roots grow from the Golden Buckle on the Corn Belt.
Aw, shucks.

Breakfast-homemade and out & about.

Good beer.

Eye patch not included...

Family & lake cabins.

And the fun that evolves.

Fireworks.
Kaboom.

Piers.

Jersey Shore with remarkably warm waters.

Singing. Four voices as one.

As well as listening to others sing. Sing grand.

Travel. Lots.

Montreal.

And Vermont skies that left me speechless as to a proper color description.

Summer 2011, thank you for being a surprising, adventuresome, and healing summer surrounded by friends and family.

Now, Fall, take the baton and RUN.
