ABCs

I love these:

Cute, no matter which letter happens to stand for...well, you!

I found these letter accessories ala THIS blog, which I also love as much as letter purses.

Along the same lines, I ran across this poster the other day and it makes me smile:

Kate the Great

I'm not sure how she manages to do it, but Kate Spade's designs somehow are ladylike yet whimsical, mod while being classic, vintage feeling with fresh newness, and overall, something I crave. Dresses, shoes, bags, glassware, and especially jewelry. Here are some examples of her FABULOUS cocktail rings:

Speaking of cocktails (What? You can have cocktails at Sunday dinner hour? Yes!), I made the simplest of beverages tonight, inspired by a Springtime post of this BLOG. I know it seems like an al fresco/summer-is-happening sort of drink, but believe you me, it is so delicious and EASY that it gets bumped up the list to anytime-anywhere. Like a November Sunday at 6pm.

Curious

While leaving the market this morning, my arms already full with groceries and no turning back, I noticed a variety of apples for sale. One bag was entitled Lemonade Apples.

= ???

Of course, I was interested. Very interested. I like apples! I like lemonade! But as of yet, I've not been able to find any information about this variety...help?

*$

Now that I live near a Starbucks, Bryndal and I enjoy our morning walk to grab a cup of sugared caffeine (for me, not him).

I'm not even a huge Starbucks fan, but I do become quite enamored this time of year when they break out the red cups.
Starbucks (there is no need to provide a link, you all have one within a .001 mile radius of where you are currently standing)

I don't know what it is about the red and white design, but it makes me want to buy it and whatever is contained in it. Especially if the contents end up including gingerbread, pumpkin, toffee, or eggnog along with the expected coffee.

One day a couple of years back, I even realized that I was dressed as one.
circa 2008

After placing my order this morning, the extremely cheerful and alert (she must have knocked back a few of her own products before work) cashier looked me directly in the eye and stated,
"That'll be $5.39."

Ouch. Guess I'll put that fiver back in my pocket and reach for the credit card...

Truck Stop

My walk across 59th Street to work just got a little better:
Food Trucks Galore!

One of each, please.

An Apple a Day

I love my MacBook Air. Even when the hard disk fills up each time I add a single picture or song, I still am loyal. With all of the traveling and rambling about I do, its sleek and unobtrusive form is not lost on me. So light and...well..., airy!

The new version is killer.

Oh, and how did I miss the release of the new nanos? So cute.
They are so nubby, I just want to eat one. OK, that sounds weird - I just want to own one. Better?

Boo!

Ooooooh, I love Halloooooooweeeeeeeeeeeen (said in a sing-songy, floaty, elongated, ghost voice)!
Such a noncommittal, fun, and silly holiday. And it involves costumes and candy!
LuRuSo as Donald Duck, circa 1989
I've picked up a few treats for the treaters although I find apartment trick or treating one of the oddest things ever. B might redo one of his costumes from last year. I bet it stays on 16 seconds at most.
Bryndal the Pumpkin - definitely NOT a happy pumpkin.

I'm excited to carve my actual pumpkin tomorrow. He leans back like he is taking it all in. My Mom named him Homer. I'm sure he is also excited to become a jack-o-lantern because then he can move on from his current 9 to 5 job:
Homer the Pumpkin as a box keeper

(Please excuse the iPhone pics. My camera is out of juice and the battery pack is still hidden away somewhere in boxes #1-13.)

There will be some toasting of pumpkin seeds and hot apple cider complete with a cinnamon stick. I'm attempting to use fall foods as much as possible in the next few weeks. Tonight's dinner consisted of butternut squash, red potatoes, onions, pork, apple cider, brandy, apples, garlic, herbs, and too many other good things to mention. The one essential ingredient it did not have was pepper (tragedy), but the pepper must be chilling with my camera charger.
What's for dinner
Maybe I will even watch some Dexter alone to appropriately creep myself out.

But you know what is really scary? This:

I mean, I'm all for being festive but the crafty holiday fare is also supposed to be appetizing, right? There is not one thing on this plate that I would feel comfortable eating in pictured form. Maybe a cracker...?

Speaking of scary wackadoo festive food, if you haven't seen the Sandra Lee Kwanzaa cake episode, you MUST go HERE now. It's terrifying, but in the best possible way. I dare you not to scream.
